Roadside America

Day Four - 12/22/2003
Deming, NM to Lordsburg, NM

So we got into New Mexico, and we were driving and driving looking for a rest stop to sleep for the night, but to no avail. So we ended up sleeping in the car in the parking lot of a gas station in Deming, NM. When we start back on I-10 West, what should we see but an exit for a friggin' rest stop.

This was such a nice place to sleep!

The scenery is truly pretty here. Its definitely much hillier than Texas, as we are getting into the Rockies. I would guess that these hills are about as high as the Appalachians back home, but they are definitely a lot less worn down over time than those mountains.

The new landscapes...

We ended up hitting the rest stop we saw earlier mainly out of spite.

You'd think they would have a few more places like this!!!!!

Kinda interesting, considering New Mexico had not been part of the Confederacy.

It's official! We found a town smaller than a city block!

Dis be Playas... but where be da bitches and de hos?
